According to a February 16, 2005 Poughkeepsie Journal article, a group of neighbors of the former Dutchess County Infirmary/Poorhouse property (currently being developed by the County as an Eastern Dutchess County Services Center) filed a lawsuit in Dutchess Supreme Court.

The suit alleges that the county Legislature did not properly consider potential environmental concerns including impacts on the neighborhood and HISTORIC RESOURCES.

The suit seeks to have resolutions passed by the Dutchess County Legislature regarding the Eastern Dutchess County Services Center declared null and void and force the county to conduct an in-depth environmental study of the plans.
